Top 5 Tips For Making Quick, Easy Dinners

When most people think of using a crock pot to prepare food, they tend to think of dishes that are perfect for cold weather. For example, your parents may have used a crock pot to cook a roast or vegetable stew. But, crock pots can be used to prepare meals for every taste and climate.



Plan breakfast the night before. Even setting out the boxes of cereal and bowls can give you a few extra minutes in the morning. There isn't a lot a person can't do using your crock pot. You can get very creative with main-dish items, party-time snacks or maybe sweet-tooth goodies. They can certainly be prepared merely in your slow cooker roast beef cooker. Whether or not you need something for a weeknight meal or you are planning on feeding a group, the crock pot will be your personal chef to create tasty meals that please and surprise virtually anyone.

I usually plan to make a pot roast dinner the next night after purchase, especially if the meat has a quick sale date on it. I let it remain in the refrigerator until morning. Add enough stock or sauce so that when the meat is returned to the pot the liquid comes half way up the meat. When you add the stock start with a little slow cooker roast beef fall apart scrape the fond from the bottom of the pot. Then add the remaining stock.

Stick a meat thermometer into the thickest part f the meat. If it reads 150 degrees F, it is done. If you do not have a meat thermometer, you can cut into the roast to see if it is cooked through. Let it rest for ten minutes before serving, to allow the juices to redistribute.
